A New Definition for A Good Day

SunriseIt was a good day today. I didn’t get done nearly as much as I’d planned, but then I generally never do. Still, it was a good day. Got a client check in the mail (always nice), Mom didn’t have any major meltdowns and was generally her pleasant self, at least until bedtime, and I did make at least a little progress on a major project I’ve been working on for a couple of months. But mostly what made it a good day was that I did a better job than I usually do of staying close to God today. Of thinking about the driver who cut me off in traffic as a mere distraction to my joy, and using it as a reminder to praise God first, and then comes joy. So start singing! And at other points all through the day, I was present to my need for Him, and prayed. That made it good day indeed.
